Fans of Harry Potter must be relishing the fact with glee. Films such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix are always expected to amass awards at the major movie festivals and the fifth film in the hugely popular Harry Potter series is no different.

The David Yates-directed movie has been nominated for the Best Feature film at this year’s BAFTA Children’s Awards and is tipped by several movie critics to win the award too. The film is based on the fifth novel of the J K Rowling written Harry Potter book series and centers on Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger trying to convince everyone at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that the evil Lord Voldemort is back.

Michaels Dougherty & Dan Harris, who were supposed to have scripted ‘Superman Returns’, seem to have chosen not to do so. (Hmm...Think good old Lex Luthor is behind this sudden change of heart? Maybe he didn’t want Superman to return again & can we blame him for that!) The two writers, who penned down the original in the summer of 2006, were supposed to work along with Bryan Singer on the sequel. Seems as if that plan is now all but gone. The writers seem to be more interested in pursuing their own directorial ventures. (Why? Why would anyone not want to script Superman?)

This has forced Warner Bros. to try rope in others to do the job for them. Right now, it seems as if the company is in a bit of spot. Now Hollywood’s rumor mill is on about how WB intends to start all over again with the Superman persona & wants to act as if the 2006 flick never ever happened. This is assigned to the fact that the grand re-entry the movie made in 2006 was in fact not as fancy as WB thought it would be. It made only $200 million at home & $191 million overseas.

Anyway, WB denies all such rumors & says that Brandon Ruth will once again take on the mantle of the man who is “faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound’ (That was his true description, if you remember). For those who are confused, let me put it in a simple phrase; same guy plays superman again. Happy kids?

He is 26 but looks like 36! Just look at Ryan Goslings’ photograph and say if I’m wrong! Well, Ryan Gosling has been replaced by Mark Wahlberg as the grieving father in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lovely Bones,’ based on Alice Seybold novel.

Gosling, who had put on 9kg and grown a beard for the part of Susie Salmon’s father, quit Friday due to ‘creative differences.’ Ryan left just one day before the filming was set to start on Monday. But on Sunday Mark Wahlberg was announced as his replacement:

‘Peter Jackson was said to be quite surprised that Gosling had showed up to start work on ‘The Lovely Bones’ looking like he’d donned a fat suit. According to sources, the 26-year-old Gosling had apparently told the director he was going to gain weight to age himself up to play the part of a grieving father, but Jackson was still expecting some movie star allure - not paunch and a beard. By Friday, Gosling had left the high-profile production over those pesky ‘creative differences,’ and, by Sunday, he’d been replaced by 36-year-old Mark Wahlberg, who actually could be old enough to father a teenager.’

Oo! Poor Gosling was dumped for being fatty! I hope he’ll never gain weight for any of the roles!

No wonder Leonardo DiCaprio is Martin Scorsese’s all time favorite actor and that’s why Martin has collaborated with Leo, for their fourth film together entitled ‘Shutter Island.’ Leo and Martin have worked together on three films i.e. ‘Gangs of New York,’ ‘The Aviator’ and ‘The Departed.’

According to Variety, Laeta Kalogridis is writing the screenplay and the flick is an adaptation of the popular Dennis Lehane novel.

Drama is set in 1954, with DiCaprio in final talks to play U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.

Filming of this new flick is expected to take place early next year in the US states of Massachusetts and Connecticut, and in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.

Keith Allen, now appears to go the Boris Becker way — old, abandoned children are galloping out of cupboards these days and the British celebrity is lost for words. It’s hard to ignore the gossip surrounding the father of British pop singer Lily Allen at the moment and the fact is that the end to the story is miles away.

It’s not that uncommon for celebrities to have sex at wild night parties, but it’s not too common for a celebrity to father a child and then abandon it. The hugely successful and quite popular Keith Allen has been accused of doing exactly that. A 16-year old black girl named Gala has sent a ripple of shock by coming out of the closet and declaring that Keith is her actual father.
