Those who say that lightning doesn’t strike twice needs to think again. What Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe did back in 2000 with the Hollywood blockbuster Gladiator is set to be repeated again in 2007 with another star name attaching itself to the list. American Gangster, the movie that revolves around the real-life Harlem drug kingpin Frank Lucas, has shot up to the top in the UK and Ireland charts after its opening weekend.

With Denzel Washington starring in the movie as Frank Lucas, the movie was expected to rock the UK and so far it has done exactly that. The movie is also expected to rack up Oscars in more than one category and Crowe, who plays the New Jersey policeman, is said to have displayed one of his best performance in the film.

Are you a big fan of scary movies or freaked out by them? For the movie buffs in the U.S. here’s a good chance to experience their reaction. Most of the theaters throughout U.S. are showing four back to back episodes of the Saw series.

As I recall, these movies were a great show. Released in three episodes, the three movies Saw, Saw II and Saw III premiered in 2004, ‘05 and ‘06. These movies fall under the category of horror, mystery, crime and thriller. I am positive that watching four back to back episodes of these movies will drive you nuts at the end. You will be in a gory world of blood and gutts all throughout the time.

The screenings will take place in the U.S. starting 6PM on Thursday, and will go on a little before midnight. Hopefully, the audience will be able to digest all the horror movies at once without passing out on the movie theater floor. Most of the movies are rated R for violence, torture and blood.

Hollywood stars like Benito Martinez, Monica Potter, Shawnee Smith, these Saw movies are a real treat for those who are into scary movies. Darren Lynn Bousman seems to have done a pretty good job on these movies. Most of these were award nominees. They have been awarded for great direction, awesome characters and superb plot structure. The back to back screening of the four saw movies will make these movies more popular.
