This years Environmental Media Association Award for the best feature film was bestowed upon the dancing penguins of ‘Happy Feet’. This was the seventeenth time the EMA awards were held in a row on October 24th . Considered as one of the most inspiring and eco friendly movies which delivers ecological uplifting and informative message, this Warner Bros picture production seemed to be the deserving winner of the maximum glory. The main reason for the success of the movie at the EMA awards this year is considered the informative message that has been passed on to the viewers especially the campaign to stop commercial over fishing of the Antarctic.

At last the winner’s smile cracked into her face! Jessica Simpson is pretty happy as her Blonde Ambition is ultimately going to hit the big screen before hitting the DVD tracks. After reports that skipping the theaters Blonde Ambition will get a DVD treatment straight away in January, production houses like Nu Image and Millennium Films have given a limited chance to run the movie on Christmas occasion.

According to Elizabeth Wolfe, a spokeswoman for the film’s production company the film will be released theatrically on December 21 this year.

But the romantic comedy will hit only eight halls of Texas. The production houses had chosen Texas as Jessica Simpson and Luke Wilson both the movie-stars are from Texas. So perhaps Jessica will get a considerable response from her native Texas. Elizabeth believes that the film has a cute story line and Jessica fans will be thrilled after watching the movie. She also stated that they have all the confidence in her. But once it opens the production house has decided to assess its pros and cons and also to measure the response that it will draw over Christmas. If the movie gets a reasonable success then they may consider releasing it in other states before it gets the DVD release.

Blond Ambition also stars Andy Dick and Rachael Leigh Cook along with Jessica and Wilson. On the same context Elizabeth added that:

We’ve done a second film with Jessica, Major Movie Star (slated for 2008 release)

After the debacle of the Golden Globes Awards this year, now it is turn for the Oscars. The ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has been successful in suspending the Globes this year and now it has made the fate of the Oscars uncertain as well.

However, the broadcast of the 34th annual People’s Choice Awards on Tuesday night must have definitely brought a breather to the sponsors of the Oscars. In absence of the writers, the telecast of the People’s Choice Awards on CBS was a modest, low profile ceremony with pre-recorded celebrity clippings and acceptance speeches. A statement from the WGA read,

The WGA [Writers Guild of America] has already said it was not going to grant a waiver to the Oscars. We could see the same exact scenario as with the Golden Globes, where there will be a lot of talk and then no Oscar show after all.

However, on a brighter side I read a news-article that ABC network, in charge of telecasting the Academy awards this year on 24th February, is going ahead with the groundwork for the ceremony inspite of the writers’ protests.

After 2003, its again time for Hulk to come up with some self created notions. Just like any other super hero this famous character is again going to make a wide appearance on the big screen. What makes Hulk so special is that unlike Batman or Iron Man, it is entirely a computer generated entity. Hulk is a unique superhero who is not an ordinary human as he turns himself into a giant. With the same zeal, the new Hulk directed by Louis Leterrier, is coming up with the tag of Incredible Hulk in June 13. As against clunky visual effects of 2003, this film is coming up with the motion-capture special effect to give more visual astonishments to the spectators. In this new version of this super hero movie, the effects are so polished that we can even see the wrinkles as the normal human being turns into a devastating character.
