richard fleische1When I just heard the news, my reaction was, Holy Shit!! Richard Fleischer is dead. I too am a big fan of his movies, a man who has possibly captured each and every genre in his reel life.

Mr. Fleischer will always be remembered for his Walt Disney adventure, full of action scenes, an all time favorite: “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.”

He has directed 50 movies of which the most remembered ones are The Boston Strangler (1968), Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970, Fantastic Voyage (1966), Soylent Green (1973), Conan the Destroyer and Doctor Dolittle, a musical extravaganza.

Schwarzenegger, who worked with him in Conan the Destroyer said: “He was a man of great talent and an extraordinary director who leaves behind a legacy of amazing films.”

The great man however won just one Oscar in the year 1947 for his famous documentary on Post-World War II.
