The third in the Pirates caravan-’Pirates of the Caribbean-At The World’s End’ got a $112.5 million opening. However, that was far below the opening collections of its predecessor, Dead Man’s Chest. Dead Man’s Chest collected $135.6 million at its opening. Even the other biggies like Spider-Man 3 ($151.1 million) and Shrek the Third ($121.6 million) outperformed it.
Though it missed out on the box-office records, it certainly did a lot better than the X-Men: The Last Stand ($122.9 million). The reviews were both bad and good for the movie. The film even makes a record as it is the fifth biggest opening of all time. However, the game is still not over as it would be highly interesting to see how the movie stands out in the long run.
