Directed by Isabel Coixet, the hardcore emotional drama, ‘The Secret Life of Words’, bagged four honors at the Spanish Oscars which make this ceremony the 24th Goya Film Awards.
Story Line: The story trails around an emotional love drama that connects a nurse and a man who is burnt to the extremes during an oil mishap. The story so beautifully weaves the pain experienced by the couple that it is almost unnerving.
This four hours event indeed was a lucky one for ‘Words’ coz the best four awards viz: Best Film, best authentic screenplay, best director and best production went to this movie. The cast includes Tim Robbins, Sarah Polley and Julie Christie.
Director Coixet was so very touched by the women of Sarajevo that she went on to say that the movie would have been incomplete without the tremendous help from this women who gave her their heart-touching words, their unheard silence and their unspoken secrets.
The other awards in the ceremony are:
Best Actor: Oscar Jaenada (Camaron)
Best Actress: Candela Pena (Princesas)
Best Foreign Film: Match Point
