Is “Blonde Ambition” starring Jessica Simpson, going to be just a BLIND AMBITION? Rumours mill around the internet that the movie is in fact not very good. And that the actor’s dad who’s also her manager Joe Simpson has been delaying its release because of that.

An insider has been quoted in GATECRASHER, “First, the release date was set for Aug. 3, and then it was delayed until the last week of August,” says an insider. “Papa Joe then intervened and said he wasn’t comfortable with the level of competition from other films that month.” Another source says: “Jessica was not very focused on-set and flubbed her lines often. She always had her dog around, was on the phone with [then-] boyfriend John Mayer or was sitting in a warmed-up SUV.”

The movie is directed by Scott Marshall, who has also directed Keeping Up with the Steins (2006), DVD Discoveries (2003), This Is Automat (2002) and Spin Cycle . The plot line seems to read like this at the iwatch.com website,

“A young professional woman (Simpson) unwittingly becomes the pawn of two business executives in their bid to oust the head of a mega-conglomerate.”

The cast includes Rachael Leigh Cook, Jessica Simpson, Luke Wilson, Penelope Ann Miller , Andy Dick, Larry Miller, and Willie Nelson among others.
