
At present, Sean Connery has no plan to play the role of Harrison Ford’s father in Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming Indiana Jones 4. The 76-year-old, Academy award winner who announced his retirement in July 2005 is having “too damned much fun” and made clear of no intentions to come out of retirement. Although he believes that an Indiana Jones movie would be the right platform for his comeback.
He said in a message that was posted to Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones website:
I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honour to have Harrison as my son. But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun.
The veteran actor appeared as Bond in seven films. The first one as ‘Bond’ was Dr. No in 1962 and concluded with Never Say Never Again in 1983. He played the father of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, whereas he is actually only 12 years his junior.
Indiana Jones 4 shooting will begin on June 18 and will star Harrison ford, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone, and young US hearththrob Shia LaBeouf. The movie will be directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by George Lucas.
