One of the coolest Hollywood actors has signed up for the remake of one of the coolest films ever-Bullitt. Brad Pitt will play the role of Lt Frank Bullitt in the remake. Screen legend Steve McQueen played the role in the 1968 original. Brad, who starred in the famous Ocean’s Thirteen, had been connected with the project since 2003 though the progress had stalled in the meanwhile.

Hollywood heavyweights are keen on getting as any movies underway as possible and the remake of Bullitt has been given green signal. Brad Pitt was considered the perfect man for the job as is enunciated when a source said:

Brad shares a lot of the same passions as Steve McQueen - including a love of motorbikes and fast cars - so it was a dream role for him.

It is true that Hollywood has not witnessed successful remakes. Whether Brad’s Bullitt will be able to break the jinx will be something to look out for. Fans of Brad will also be eager to watch out if he can perfect the art of giving the famous icy stare which McQueen successfully did in the original. Another famous episode in the original was the car chase starring McQueen’s Mustang through San Francisco. The men behind the remake have to face the crucial challenge of coming up with a formidable alternative to the Mustang. Or, would they can keep the original?
