It’s the second chance for the Vietnam Drama ‘Platoon’ to be screened at the Cannes Fest after the unfortunate refusal by the Cannes organizers to screen it 20 years ago. The movie has got the approval for its screening at the 2006 edition which is scheduled to be held coming month.
Platoon had won four Oscar awards in the year 1986 in major categories like best picture and best director. Director Oliver Stone along with his casts will be present during the screening.
Jeff Pryor from the communications department said:
It’s been digitally re-mastered, so it’s the cleanest version of the film there’s ever been.
No more details were forthcoming from the organizers about the movie, but it is rumored that the movie will be set apart exclusively for the classic category of restored and re-mastered movies.
