This one could be an embarrassing one for the producers of the Bourne movies, as Matt Damon has called the movies ‘meaningless’. The trilogy that started with The Bourne Identity had a sequel The Bourne Supremacy and is about to conclude with the third and final installment, The Bourne Ultimatum. However, the star that played Jason Bourne in the movie is not convinced about the point the movies sought to make.
The 36-year-old actor said:
I deliver so many ultimatums throughout these movies but what is the ultimatum?...Then again we didn’t know what my identity was the first time. And what was supreme about me the last time?...We basically commandeered Mr Ludlum’s titles and it’s starting to show.
The movies are based on Robert Ludlum’s best selling novels. The Academy Award winning actor fears that the filmmakers run a danger of repeating themselves in the third Bourne movie. Quite clearly, Matt feels that they have overdone the sequel making part. He does have a point there.
