A gay movie screening can lead to such an outbreak is really strange in the most advanced nations. Recently in Massachusetts, a correctional officer was punished for showing the Oscar winning movie, director Ang Lee’s ‘Brokeback Mountain‘ to the prison inmates of one of the largest state prison.
The officer’s immediate superior said that the movie is not decent enough to be shown to the inmates as it has some particular sexually hyped scenes that are not meant for the ambience in the prison.
Spokeswoman Diane Wiffin of Massachusetts Department of Correction said:
It was not the subject matter. It was the graphic nature of sexually explicit scenes.
Diane further stated that the officer has failed to live up to the rules and regulations laid down for the prison staff who schedule the movie shows.
