Leonardo DiCaprio’s new film ‘Blood Diamond’ has left international diamond industry worried. Leonardo, 32, never expected such a pandemonium. Blood diamond is a diamond mined in a war zone and sold, usually secretly, in order to finance an insurgent or invading army’s war efforts.

‘Blood Diamond’ is slated to hit theatres on December 8, it examines the multi-million-dollar strip mining business that fueled Sierra Leone’s destructive civil war in the 1990s.

The film was shot on several locations in Africa such as South Africa’s East Coast.

“The WDC (World Diamond Council) and its coalition are urging the studio and the filmmakers to present this story in the proper historical context so they can relate how conflict diamonds have improved since then,” says World Diamond Council spokesman Carson Glover.

Leonardo DiCaprio, two times Oscar nominee, is fantastic as Danny Archerin ‘Blood Diamond.’ He has really become a great actor. This seems to be a good movie and I will surely watch this movie as it holds a strong story line.

Leonardo didn’t remember when he last bought diamonds but now he wants to gift such diamonds to his mom only.
