Aaron Russo, the legendary music manager and film producer died last Friday, due to bladder cancer that he was battling with, since last six years. The New York born producer died at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Russo, who was raised on Long Island started promoting rock and roll shows when he was a high school student. He wasn’t only an American entertainer but a businessman and also a libertarian political activist. At the mere age of 24, he opened his own nightclub in Chicago called the Kinetic Playground with which he provided platform to many great artists like Led Zeppelin. He also became the manager for Bette Midler during which the star rose to unreachable heights in fame and popularity. Through the years of his hard work, he has won himself a number of awards like a Grammy, a Tony, and an Emmy for his television series, OL’ Red Hair is Back. His movies have been nominated six times for Academy awards and seven times for Golden Globes. He has won three Golden Globes and also an Image award.

The producer is survived by his two children Sam and Max by Greg. He was just 64.
