Portia is doing the role of a lesbian for the first time. She mentioned that she is a lesbian and is doing the role of it; however there is no similarity between the role she is playing and her. Therefore, on the whole, it would be quite amazing to know that in what ways this role would be emotional for her.
Three years before this lanky blonde move out to publicize her linking with Ellen de Generes & in the beginning she bothered that she will get a label of a lesbian if she accepts the Nip/Tuck role. Her girlfriend Ellen suggested that she should perform this role.
In a prepared statement, Portia said
My relationship with Ellen is so public, & she thought, am I going to play a romantic lead again? I had that one moment of, ‘Does this mean I’ll be typecast as a lesbian?
Portia told that in addition to this Ellen moved to her & said for this reason she should not leave such role and afterwards she realized that she should do this role, there is no problem in doing such roles.
However her partner — Joely in the series of Nip/tuck, has no worries at all with these types of roles and scenes.
Joely, mentioned that she have no difficulty in kissing a female. She is not doing such scenes for the first time in her carrier in fact she has done many lesbian roles before this one.
42-year-old Joely, mentioned that she have listened that Ellen felt jealous of her. Ellen used to visit on the sets. She is wonderful & Portia is beautiful.
In addition to this the star also mentioned that she usually assumes that performing as a lesbian aims at arousing guys. Her role of Julia was getting dull who was married & all the time kept her engage in cutting vegetables.
She also mentioned that — however at present she is playing that role differently - she is acting as a sexy busted woman who wears big padded bras & petite skirts; she is getting extremely different responses.
The actress said that she believes that males use to react to the sexiness of the two females getting intimate with each other.
