The internationally renowned film festival in France will be held from May 16-27 and the leaders of Indian film Industry have already packed their bags to attend it.

Seven films of different Indian languages will be screened in the ‘Cinema of the World’ section on May 19 and 20. I feel regional film makers will be very excited to show up their talent on such big platform. There is list of Indian regional films which got entry pass for Cannes:
• Malayalam film Saira
• Tamil film Veyil
• Bengali film Dosar
• Kannada films Amrithdhare and Maatadu Maatadu Mallige
• Bollywood hits Lage Raho Munnabhai and Guru
Cannes film festival is very helpful for the producers of smaller films who cannot afford expensive marketing campaigns. So the screening of their films at Cannes means a possible interest from international buyers.
Approximately 60 Indian film entertainment companies are expected to participate in the film festival. Here Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Bachchan starer, Jodha-Akbar, directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker will be screened. iDream Productions will act as sales agent for the Indo-US film Karma, Confessions and Holi starring Sushmita Sen and Naomi Campbell. Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal are expected to attend the market screening of Cheeni Kum. Aishwarya Bachchan and Preity Zinta will walk the red carpet at the opening ceremony as brand ambassadors for L’oreal and Chopard respectively.
