After the hardcore success of “The Departed’, an Oscar winning US version of a Hong Kong hit “Infernal Affairs”, Hollywood is all set to produce a remake of the spine chilling Hong Kong gangster drama “Exiled’. Samuel Hadida, the producer of the 2006 horror flick “Silent Hill” has been reported to purchase the rights of the movie from Media Asia. Whether, Johny To, the director of the original, would be involved in the project or not, remains a question yet.
“Exiled” was the third huge overseas sale for Media Asia, after big bombs like “Infernal Affairs”. “Confession of Pain’, the Hong Kong thriller will also be remade with Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role.
