Heidi Montag, The Hills star, has recently undergone a 10 hour plastic surgery to enhance her looks. This is a dramatic transformation- going under the knife for 10 surgeries- in just one day. She went through an extensive surgical procedure including buttock augmentation, bigger breast implants, a mini brow lift, and a nose job revision.
Montag admits her obsession, and says that it is necessary for a star to look attractive, and it is very important for her career as a pop star. She said that looks sell in the industry, and sex appeal is the basic thing that sells for pop stars.
With this news, people are found asking, “Is this safe?” How safe is it to undergo a complete 10-hour cosmetic surgery procedure? There are generally no deaths involved in the cosmetic surgery procedures, and the studies of ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) estimate that there are chances of 1 death in about 57,000 surgeries.
Though it is a less-risk procedure, yet it is not completely risk-free. The mortality ratio is very less, but deaths do occur in cosmetic surgeries too.
Apart from deaths, there are high chances of infection, especially in extensive procedures. Some medical problems might arise, like excessive blood loss, unfavorable reaction to implanted or injected material, or wrong use of anesthesia.
Some Los Angeles plastic surgery doctors advise taking precautions while going for this kind of surgery, as they say that these surgeries might not improve your looks in the way that you want. There are many cases of cosmetic surgeries gone wrong, where the person ends up looking worse than what he began with. There are also some people who are allergic to some medicines given during the surgical procedure. In case you are looking forward to getting a cosmetic surgery, it’s better that you consult a good doctor first.
