The Harry Potter series which created a revolution in the world of fiction with its witch and wizardry magic, has now created history at the Box office as well with collections of $4.47bn (£2.2bn). The teenage wizard surpassed the James Bond and Star Wars fervor.
Jame Bond, the spy genuis, marked a collection of $4.44bn (£2.19bn) from a series of 22 movies till date. Bond’s last outing, Casino Royale and the first to star Daniel Craig became top 10 UK box office hits of all time. But the movie was outstripped by Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone.
The latest of the 7 part potter series, Order of the Phoenix is still attracting millions of Pottermaniacs across the globe and has taken over $920m (£454m) around the world. The Potter movies series by Warner Bros also left lagging behind the sci-fi superhit series of Star Wars which occupies the 3rd position after James Bond with collections of $4.23bn (£2bn) till date.
Considering that there are yet 2 more movies lined up in the Harry Potter franchise, it is just amazing to imagine the heights of succes and box office records the teen wizard can set. The world will surely be awaiting for the next movie in line from this magical franchise and the Box office would definately be sitting at its edge expecting some staggering collections.
