Hold your breath as Hollywood environmentalists are throwing the first ‘green’ Golden Globes awards for celebrities next week. EMA and entertainment network E! will host the ‘Golden Green’ party in Beverly Hills on January 15.

Along the way of Golden Globes awards, Oscar nominees will also be announced on Jan. 23, an event that is usually carried live by CNN and E! The Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, air live on KGTV/Channel 10 on Feb. 25.

Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rachel Weisz, Hotel heiress Paris Hilton along with other celebrities are slated to attend the event in an eco-friendly apartment.

Debbie Levin, Environmental Media Association (EMA president) said,

Green living has become a way of life for many of today’s celebrities. We are proud to be the first ones to step up and create a party that unites talent and social responsibility.

The party will be set in a natural environment to promote awareness of green issues, and the group TreePeople will plant one tree for every attendee.
