
Bruce Lee is the name that comes to everyone’s mind when we talk about martial arts. The late martial artist is due for a worthy tribute as the Chinese state television has announced a forty-part TV series based on the life of the great kung-fu exponent.
Actor Chan Kwok Kwan plays the role of Lee in the series titled The Legend of Bruce Lee. The shooting has already began since last weekend in Shunde in the southern province of Guangdong.
Bruce Lee was born on 27th of November 1940 in San Francisco and he mastered the art of kung-fu from Yip Man. Lee never believed in getting tied to a particular style and presented the ideology of Jeet Kune Do or the Way of the Intercepting Fist. Lee was solely responsible for making the secret Chinese art of fighting come out in the open.
Lee’s association with Hong Kong based producer Raymond Chow resulted in some of the greatest martial arts films like Enter The Dragon, Return of the Dragon and The Game of Death among others.
Bruce Lee met an untimely death in 1973 in Hong Kong at the age of 32. The reason behind his death was cited as a fatal swelling of the brain, but rumors are still alive that Lee was killed by a group of kung fu experts who resented the actor for exposing their secrets to the world.
Bruce Lee is the inspiration of millions of martial artists all over the globe, and he will always live in our memories.
