cannes film festival den brysomme mannen

The upcoming Cannes Film Festival is definitely going to be the reason for the European directors to walk around proudly, as this year’s selection for the International Critics Week sidebar shows that it is the Euro movies which is putting up a tough competition and dominating the entire scenario with 5 of them running the race.

As said by artistic director Jean-Christophe Berjon:

We found it hard to find films with great potential, but we found many which we liked and many from Europe and that’s reflected everywhere this year at Cannes, including the official selection and in Directors’ Fortnight.

The lists of movies vying for the honors include: ‘Les Amities Malefiques’ from Emmanuel Bourdieu, ‘Pingpong’ from Matthias Luthardt, ‘Den Brysomme Mannen’ by Jens Lien, ‘Ana, Sonhos de Peixe’ directed by director Kirill Mikhanovsky etc.
