This is very tragic news from the set of Batman sequel ‘The Dark Night’. A special-effects technician was killed in a crash Monday afternoon during the production of the new Batman film near Chertsey, Surrey, England.
According to Fox News the victim died when a truck carrying a camera platform crashed into a tree while following a stunt vehicle on Monday. The crash did not occur during filming and no actors were involved in the accident, which stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
A spokesperson for the film released the following statement,
The entire cast and crew of The Dark Knight are deeply saddened by this tragedy and their hearts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
My prays go out to the family and cast as well during this sad time.
