Known as the master of the horror genre, Anthony Hopkins one of the most renowned names in the Hollywood, is making his return back to his favourite genre with ‘The Wolfman’. Anthony will be seen joining Benicio Del Toro in this project by The Universal Pictures.
Though the veteran thespian’s current project is an experimental art movie ‘Slipstream’ Anthony will be surely anticipating a great comeback in a genre where he grew to be better than the best. Confirming the project the great said,
I’m going to do ‘The Wolf Man’ with Benicio Del Toro.
Anthony Hopkins will be seen playing the role of Sir John Talbot, father to Del Toro’s character, Lawrence Talbot, who becomes afflicted with the werewolf curse. The Oscar winner Hopkins is definitely very keen and eager to have been taken this project. For the star it seems to be up for the role in the movie which is slated to be directed by Mark Romanek.
For all those who have been following the horror genre, reports have it that ‘The Wolfman’ written by Andrew Kevin Walker is a remake of the 1941 classic, ‘The Wolf Man’ featuring Lon Chaney Jr. as the titular character.
Admirers of this veteran actor will though have to wait till February 13th, 2009 for the movie to come out in the theatres next to them. But for all those huge fans of the great man himself and his style of movies will be awaiting this much anticipated return to the horror genre. In the past many such actors have tried their hands in making a mark in this thriller genre but none could create an impact that Anthony Hopkins created. He truly is the emperor of this horror genre. What a feast for all those raring to see him on the silver screen back with what he was best at.
